Marcel Marceau was one of the greatest French ambassadors of our time, recognized around the world as the greatest contemporary mime artist.

Next May 26th and 27th , by judicial decision, the personal affairs of Marcel Marceau will be auctioned off at the Hotel Drouot.

The mission of the association Un musee pour Bip (A museum for Bip) is to centralize all actions and support to save the artistic and cultural legacy of Marcel Marceau and to transmit it to a cultural space dedicated to the art of mime in France.

    2. Collective actions to be taken before

      May 26th 2009

                         

                      1. Collect donations

before May 26, 2009 in order to acquire the artistic and cultural legacy of Marcel Marceau to be put on sale at the Hotel Drouot.

The goal is to collect a minimum of 100,000 euros.

The minimum donation is 10 euros.  Therefore, we need only 10,000 people worldwide to accomplish this mission.

With our donations, everything bought will then be transported and established as the core of a cultural center consecrated to the art of mime in France, in order to share his art, his universe, with as large an audience as possible.

This urgent operation is symbolically called

A museum for Bip,

the poetic and burlesque character created in 1947 who’s adventures brought laughter and tears to the whole word for more than 60 years.

All donors will have their name inscribed on a plaque, which will remind visitors to the cultural center that it was by their mobilization that this collection was saved.
